Privacy Policy
Effective October 11, 2026
This is an English translation for convenience. If it differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
Naoki Tamura ("we", "us") handles the personal information of users of Rakuda, the AI video editing service (the "Service"), as set out below and in line with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: email address and password (stored encrypted by the sign-in provider; we never see it).
- Payment details: your customer ID at the payment provider, your current plan, its status and renewal date, and your purchase and credit history. Card numbers and other card details are collected and held directly by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not keep them.
- What you enter or upload: recordings, video, photos and other materials, scripts, instructions and chat messages to the AI, and the transcripts and editing data made from them.
- Channels and posts: the URLs and display names of the social media channels you add (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok), and public information about your posted videos such as their URLs and view counts.
- Waitlist: your email address and how you found us.
- Campaigns: your mobile phone number (to confirm your identity), Instagram username and the URL of your post.
- Access information: access logs such as IP address, browser type and time of access.
2. How we use it
- To provide the Service (transcription, editing and making videos, exports, storing and syncing your data).
- To confirm your identity and sign you in.
- To charge for the Service and to grant and manage credits.
- To answer your questions and send invitations (including from the waitlist) and important notices.
- To prevent misuse and deal with breaches of the Terms of Service.
- To run campaigns (checking eligibility and posts).
- To fix problems and improve the Service by analysing how it is used.
3. Disclosure to third parties
We do not give personal information to third parties without your prior consent, except where the law requires it, and except when we entrust its handling to processors as far as needed for the purposes above, as described next.
4. Processors
The Service runs on the following providers, each of which receives the information needed for its task.
| Provider | Task | Main information sent |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (USA) | Sign-in and database | Email address, account details, editing data, credit and plan details, waitlist and campaign registrations |
| Stripe (USA) | Payment processing | Email address and payment details (Stripe collects card details directly) |
| OpenAI (USA) | Transcribing audio, answering in the AI chat, analysing what a video contains | Audio, transcripts, scripts, instructions and chat messages |
| Anthropic (USA) | Proofreading transcripts, designing a video's structure and visuals | Transcripts, scripts, instructions, images of materials |
| TypeSafe | Classifying requests to the AI | Requests made in the AI chat |
| Vercel (USA) | Website hosting | Access logs (IP address, browser type, etc.) |
In addition, to find diagrams, maps, images and sound effects for a video, the Service sends search words made from what you said to public services such as Wikimedia Commons, Openverse, Iconify, GIPHY, OpenStreetMap and arXiv, and may visit web pages mentioned in your talk and the public pages of your social media channels. None of this includes your name, email address or similar details. Your browser also connects to Google Fonts to display fonts, and to Instagram to play the videos on the home page.
5. Transfers outside Japan
The processors above include companies in the United States and other countries outside Japan. We send them information only under their terms of service and data processing agreements, which ensure a system meeting the standards of Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information. For information on the personal data protection system in the United States, see the materials published by Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language and current channel, and your browser's local storage to remember display settings. We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics.
7. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes above. You can delete your account at any time under Settings → Delete account in the Service, or ask us to delete it by writing to team@hacozy.com. When your account is deleted, we delete without delay your account details, the projects and channels saved to it, your credits and their history, and your waitlist and campaign registrations. Any current plan is cancelled immediately, with no refund for the rest of the period or unused credits.
Payment records (your customer record at the payment provider, invoices and payment history) are kept by our payment provider, Stripe, for the period the law requires, to meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations. We also keep any other information the law requires us to keep for the required period.
8. Security
We take necessary and appropriate measures — access control, encrypted connections and others — to protect personal information against unauthorised access, leaks, loss or damage.
9. Your rights
You may ask us to tell you how we use your personal information, to disclose it, to correct, add to or delete it, to stop using or erase it, to stop providing it to third parties, and to delete your account (which you can also do yourself under Settings → Delete account). Contact us at the address below; once we have confirmed your identity we will respond without delay as the law requires.
10. Contact
For questions about how we handle personal information, write to team@hacozy.com.
